Thomas M. Pletz Sr., 63, a resident of Bensenville, passed away on May 24, 2017. Tom was the beloved partner of Marilyn S. Selpien for over 30 years; he was the loving father of Thomas M. (Tiffany) Pletz Jr.; the dear brother of 6 and the cherished grandfather of 8. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, from 3 to 8 pm. at Grove Memorial Chapel, with a chapel service on Wednesday, May 31, at 10 am. Interment will follow at East Fox Lake Cemetery, in Lake Villa, where Tom will be reunited with his beloved children and family.

Sarah A. Kendall, 85, of Elk Grove Village for over 40 years passed away May 17, 2017. She was a retired senior system analyst for CNA Insurance. Sarah was the loving mother Donna Lynn (Gary) Johnston; dear sister of Joan Kendall Walsh, the late David (Beverly) Jr. and the late Michael Kendall; cherished grandmother of Andrea Baverstock and Shoshana Howell and great grandmother of 11; fond sister-in-law of Jackie Kendall and the late Ambrose Walsh. A memorial Mass will be held June 10th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Julian Eymard Church, 601 Biesterfield Rd., Elk Grove Village.

Kathleen C. Wintersteen, 53 (nee Romor) of Palatine for 14 years passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Bruce T. Wintersteen for 14 years; loving mother of Kenneth A.; cherished daughter of Carole (nee Hilden) and the late Raymond (1993); loving grandmother of Tobias W; dear sister of the late James V. (Judith); devoted aunt to Michael; granddaughter of the late Vincent and Lucille Hilden, and the late Hugo and Suzanne Romor. She also leaves her best friend Jackie Haut and her loving cat, Callie. Visitation Monday, May 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel, with chapel prayers Tuesday, May 23, at 9:30 a.m., proceeding to Queen of the Rosary Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Private interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Palatine.

Elizabeth S. Klocek nee. Powalish, 94, of Elk Grove Village for 48 years. Born in Stevens Point, Wi. She passed away May 11 peacefully at her home. She was a loving homemaker. Elizabeth was the beloved wife of the late Edmund E. (1992), loving mom of Edward (Pam) Klocek, Arlene (David) Gaines, Patricia (the late Al) Smith, and the late Theodore (Lottie) Klocek; cherished grandma of Denise (Tony) Aragon, David Klocek, Jeffrey Fullone, Jeremy (Crissy) Fullone, Jayme Fullone, Samantha Smith and great grandma of 6. Visitation Tuesday May 16 from 3-9pm at Grove Memorial Chapel 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd. Elk Grove Village. Chapel prayers Wednesday 9:30am followed by a 10am Mass at Queen of the Rosary Church. John J. Bria  -  81
John J. Bria, 81, of Elk Grove Village for 52 years passed away May 10, 2017 at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence. In 1960 John founded Bria Sewer and Water Construction Co. of Elk Grove Village and served as president until he retired in 2000. He was a member of Local 150 Operating Engineers of Chicago; Masonic Lodge; Fraternal Order of Police and Knights of Columbus of Elk Grove Village. He was the beloved husband of Frances A. (nee Belmonte) for 61 years; loving father of Anthony J. (Kathie) Bria; and Gina Rose M. (Daniel) Caithamer; cherished grandfather of John (Julianna), Anthony, and Joe Bria, Rachel and Rebecca Caithamer; dear brother of Peter F. (the late LaVerne), Anthony J. (Barbara), and Joseph A. (the late Kathleen). Visitation Friday, May 12, from 3 to 9 P.M. at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Eleanor M. Sanelli  -  88

Eleanor Sanelli of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Scottsdale, Az. and River Grove, Ill. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the age of 88. Ellie was born December 13, 1928 to Harry and Margaret Dayhoff. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Danny A. Sanelli; her three brothers, Harry, Donald, and Carl Dayhoff and her sister, Irene Janik; her sons, Dan Owen and Larry Sanelli; and her grandson, Matthew Sanelli. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Sandy (Tony) Miekina; Laurie (Everett) Scott; and her sons, Ken (Rachel) and Mark (Nellie) Sanelli; her grandchildren, Cathy Miekina; Brent Scott; Steven, Cheryl, and Hunter Sanelli; her sisterʼs- in-law, Maralyn and Doris Dayhoff; and many nieces and nephews. Ellie worked all her life, primarily as a service manager for Jewel/Osco in Franklin Park, Il. and retired from Arvin Industries in Phoenix, Az. Ellie was an accomplished bowler having participated in 30 WIBC Tournaments. She loved the outdoors and hiked and hunted with her husband, Danny. Her personal loves were coffee, her dog, Prince, and the Chicago Cubs. Her family would like to thank all her caregivers at Pheasant Ridge Senior Living in Roanoke for the loving care they gave her. Also the members of the Palliative Care Unit at Roanoke Memorial Hospital made her final days infinitely more comfortable. We cannot express our gratitude for their wonderful care. The Funeral Service will be at 11am on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Elk Grove Village, Il. Visitation will be on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 3pm to 9pm. Interment will be at Memory Gardens, 2501 East Euclid, Arlington Heights, Il. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, or the Alzheimers Association.

Dumelle (nee Fischer), 84 of Mesa, Arizona for 34 years, formerly of Elk Grove Village for 20 yrs, will be held on Saturday, April 29th from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a service at 2:00 p.m. Elaine passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side. She was the beloved wife of Frank X. for 65 yrs.; loving mother of Don (JoAnn) Dumelle, Debbie (Bob) Rofstad, Doreen (Bill) Kneller, Donna Large, Whitney Vance and the late Daniel (Linda) Dumelle (2013); cherished grandmother of Emily and Anna, Richie, Debbie, David, Nicole, Rachele, Scott, Dana, Danny, Kimberly, Morgan, Kacie, Brooke and 4 great-grandchildren. Raymond J. Burgess, 89, a resident of Princeton, IL. for 11 years and formerly of Elk Grove Village. Born in Chicago, he passed away April 24, 2017 at Liberty Village of Princeton. Raymond was a WWII Marine Corp veteran who served in the Pacific Theater and was a retired salesman. He was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (nee Costanza) for 44 yrs.; loving father of Steven Burgess, Kim Mory, Michael (Teresa) Burgess and dear stepfather of Gerald (Kathleen) Coughlin. Raymond was the cherished grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 5; brother of the late Warren, the late Kenneth, and the late Margaret Miller. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, from 3 to 9 P.M. at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Hts. Rd., Elk Grove Village.
