Salvatore Alaia, 84, passed away on March 15, 2018. Sal was a Minister of Care for St. Alexis Church of Bensenville for many years. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou for 58 years. Loving father of Sue (Jeff) Skender, Chris (Marisol) Alaia and Rose (Jaime) Abaroa; cherished grandfather of Jenny and Emily Abaroa, the late Nicky, Noah and Hanna Alaia; dear brother of Peter Stocco, the late Josephine Lasalle and the late Robert Alaia. Visitation Monday, March 19, 2018 from 3-9pm at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Hts. Rd. Elk Grove Village. Chapel prayers Tuesday, March 20 at 9:15am followed by a 10am Mass at St. Alexis Catholic Church, 400 W. Wood St, Bensenville. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery - Palatine. In lieu of flowers donations to Catholic Charities would be appreciated. Sal will be forever missed.
John "Jack" J. Murray

John “Jack” J. Murray passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 13th. He was born in Chicago to John Murray & Veronica nee Wozniak. He served in the Army during the Korean War and in 1955 married his love Marilyn (Kusch). They later moved to Elk Grove where they raised their family and made lifelong friends. Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, playing softball and golf. He loved watching sports, especially the Blackhawks, March Madness and his dear Cubbies. He was a dedicated parishioner of Queen of the Rosary Church. He took great pride in serving his country, taking part in his community and creating memories with his many friends. His greatest joy was always spending time with his close-knit family. He is survived by his four loving children Sue (Bob), Linda (John), Jim (Lisa), Karen (Dave) and his nine cherished grandchildren Lisa (Kevin), Michael (Jamie), Cole, Samantha, Marilyn, Nathan, Dylan, Griffin and Colin. He is also survived by his guardian angel of 22 years Judy Gulbransen, her children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Marilyn (1990) and his lifelong friend Bob Stahl. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed by family and friends. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18th, from 3 to 8 PM at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village with chapel prayers Monday, March 19th at 9:30 AM, proceeding to Queen of the Rosary Church for 10 AM Mass. Private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Queen of the Rosary Church or the National Veterans Foundation.

Patrick S. Savage, 50, of Elk Grove Village passed away at Freeport Memorial Hospital on March 14, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Patrick was the beloved son of Patricia A. Savage and the late William C. Savage (2004); the dear brother of Deborah, William J. (Patty), John (Martha), Michael (Jenny) Savage; and cherished uncle of 7 nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather for a funeral Mass held at 10AM on Friday, March 23 at Queen of the Rosary Church, Elk Grove Village. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine

Kristine Marilee Kille (Cole), 75, of Elk Grove Village, IL, passed peacefully on March 9, 2018 in Barrington, IL after a long battle with lung cancer. Kristine is survived by her loving life partner George Prochno; her son Patrick Ray O’Neal and wife Cathy; her daughter Kimberly Lynn Zito (O’Neal) and husband Scott; her grandchildren Andrew O’Neal, Alexa Zito, Natalie Zito, Michael Zito, Ashley Flores, Ryan Flores, Cameron Flores, Ashley Flament; her brother Wes Cole; her sisters Debbie Cole, Valerie Cole; her niece Kendra Trauth (Cole) and husband Dan and their children Dylan, Ashtynn, Peyton; her niece Heather Cole; her nephews Ron Cole, John Cole. Kristine is preceded in death by her father Harold Hopper; her mother Dora Archibald; her sister April Smith (Cole). Kristine was born on December 9, 1942, in Oakland, CA. She moved to Chicago, IL in 1953 where she graduated from Senn High School. In 1962 she married John Ray O’Neal, they lived in Chicago, IL, until their divorce. Together they raised 2 children; Patrick Ray and Kimberly Lynn. She remarried to Patrick David Kille, they lived in Vernon Hills, IL, until their divorce. She enjoyed the final 20 years of her life with her life partner George Prochno. Kristine held various business management roles in her career of over 30 years. She retired from Austin AECOM as a Procurement Manager. She was blessed with artistic talent for drawing and sewing; quilting was her passion. She also enjoyed traveling, golf, scrabble, jigsaw puzzles and old movies. Most of all she loved being a grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, partner and friend. A remembrance is scheduled for Sunday, March 18, from 1-5 p.m., with a non-denominational memorial service at 4 p.m., at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Elk Grove Village, IL. Tsuguko (Suzi) Koyama, 71, passed away on March 1st at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village. She was the beloved wife of Mitsuru (Mike) Koyama; loving mother of Catherine (Dan) Taglia and Stephanie Warner; cherished grandmother of Zachary, Nicholas, Alexander, Maya and Madelyn. A visitation for Suzi Koyama will be held on Saturday, March 10th from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

William Harold Bruce, 82, of Ellk Grove Village passed away peacefully with his 4 children by his side on March 3, 2018. Cherished father of Robert (Jahna) Bruce, Karen (Ronald) Bruffey, Diane (Fred) Lieb and Debra (Dennis) Becker. Loving grandfather of William (Christine), Kimberlee (fiancee' Troy), Addyson, Bradford (Paige), Benjamin (Carly), Colleen (Anthony), Braden (fiancee' Cassandra), Kyle, Katrina, Kaitlyn and step grandfather of Sarah (Kyle) and Andrew (fiancee' Klaudia). Great-grandfather of Adia and Matthew and step great grandfather of Abigail and George. Preceded in death by the love of his life Dorothy, parents, siblings, son-in-law William "Quin" and great-grandson Killian. Bill and Dorothy moved to Elk Grove in 1960 where they raised their family and remained there into their golden years. Bill was a very devoted family man who loved his family dearly. He was a selfless man who put his family and friends first, especially his wife Dorothy. He was an active charter member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church. His caring and compassionate spirit touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 1045 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village. From 9:30-11:00 AM. Gordon C. Szymanski, 72, of Elk Grove Village for 33 years. Born in Chicago, he passed away Feb. 28, 2018. Gordon was a Marine Corps. veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired 25 year IL. State Trooper as a Master Sgt. He was a member of FOP, VFW Post 9284 and Senior League Park Dist. Golf at Fox Run. Gordon was the beloved husband of Linda S. (nee. Ulosovich) for 47 years; loving father of Matthew G., Michele L. (Terry) Todd, Melanie S. Szymanski (Kevin Newman); cherished grandfather of Emmett and Ava; dear brother of Mary Ann (Fred) Novick. Madeline Everly Styka, 2 days, passed away Feb. 26, 2018 due to complications from a rare heart defect. She fell asleep in the arms of her parents Matthew and Amy at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. Madeline was born at St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates on February 23, 2018. Madeline touched countless lives of family, friends, doctors and nurses in her short time. Visitation Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 4-8pm at Grove Memorial Chapel. Chapel prayers Monday, March 5 at 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery (Palatine). Kaye retired from Jewel-Osco in Elk Grove after 22 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald L. (2000); loving mother of William L. (Carolyn), Randall L. (Debi) and Timothy L. (Sharon) Callard; cherished grandmother of Cassandra, Christopher, Abby (Alex Luft), Adam, Morgan, Riley and great grandmother of 3; dear sister of Roseann (Harold) Paetow.
